About North County Preservation
North County Preservation (NCP) is dedicated to preserving the unique character
of rural
Northern
Baltimore
County. NCP conducts research about
and disseminates information on preservation and responsible development.
We assist local community associations and individual residents by educating
them about the history and natural resources of our area. We share information
on conservation programs with landowners interested in preserving their land. We
publish periodic newsletters on the internet and in hard copy.
We convene the North County Institute to allow public officials and scholars to
meet with community association leaders. As funding permits, NCP also provides
legal assistance to community organizations to support the goals of
Baltimore
County
's Master Plan 2010.
We invite everyone committed to preservation and smart land use planning to
support North County Preservation. Cruise our website to draw on our work to
date. Volunteer to help us in our efforts.
We support our mission by:
-
Understanding the impact of residential and commercial development on our
historically and ecologically significant spaces and structures through
information gathering and analysis,
-
Promoting the appreciation and understanding of the environment through
community education programs and special events,
-
Educating landowners on preservation options for their ecologically and
historically sensitive land and structures,
-
Providing a grass roots voice for the conservation of local natural
resources and the environmentally responsible development of our community,
and
-
Providing legal assistance to protect ecologically and historically
sensitive spaces and structures.
